Monte Rosa is a spectacular mountain range that touches both Italy and Switzerland. It is made up of the breathtaking valleys of, Champoluc, Gressoney, Alagna e Macugnaga on the italian side and Saas Fee and Zermatt on the swiss side.
During our tour of Monte Rosa we follow paths that were historically used by the Walser population to descend from the alps to the villages, there is also the opportunity to visit the immense glaciers that are over 4000m.
The trekking offers the possibility to be at very close contact with the glaciers and mountain faces whilst following easy mountain footpaths. One can admire the peaks of some incredibile Monteains such as the Piramide Vincent 4200mt, the Capanna Margherita at 4559mt, the Punta Dufour 4634mt and the impressive east face of Monte Rosa which can only be seen from the Macugnaga valley. Apart from these there are many other summits, lakes and outstanding nature to admire.
For those who chose the mountaineering tour, we depart from Breuil Cervinia heading up to an incredible glacier where we will climb summits of more than 4000m. We will stay at the Capanna Margherita which is the highest refuge in Europe and is located at 4559m along with other refuges such as Guide di Ayas, Quintino Sella, Mantova, Margherita e Monterosa Hutte.
Our Monte Rosa trekking tour immerses you in the beauty of the mountains following easy mountain footpaths. Flowers, marmots, chamois, ibex , birds of prey we could easily come across any of them. A warm welcome will await you in the refuges in the evening.
